Hello all,
Apologies for being a day late! I was so excited about the House of the Dragon episode that I realized I hadn’t scheduled this newsletter until I was already in bed. You guys, it was a really good episode of House of the Dragon. If you’re not watching, now would be the perfect time to get into the zeitgeist.
I kept you waiting so let’s just get straight to it, hmm?
A friend recommended this movie to me and it was delightful! Taking place in 2001, a man goes to get his betrothed from her home, but he somehow loses her on the way and comes back with a different woman. It seems far-fetched, but you’ll understand when you watch it. It was funny! It was inspiring! I loved it.
We are back. We are so back. I’m ready for Jenn to find love. The first Asian Bachelorette? Let’s go! Bring on the Jenn-ergy!
I’ll admit my initial reaction to her men was meh, but Jenn has enough charisma for two people. Who’s watching? Who wants to talk about it? My normal bach-buddy is off teaching the youth in a summer program.

This has been my commute book for a few weeks now. I only read it during my commute, so it took longer than normal for me to finish. It’s a fascinating story about a mother and daughter with a fraught relationship. When the mother starts to lose her memory, the daughter needs to contend with her own childhood and try to come to terms with whatever abuse she may have faced. It’s a great meditation on memory and what we owe to each other, if anything. Loved it.
Really enjoyed this drama about a single mother who must suddenly work with a group of men from her past in order to appease a mobster. Does it sound like a lot going on? Don’t worry about! It’s so good! It’s part Mamma Mia, part soap opera. It’s fun and funny!
