Hello there!
It’s set to be another hot one this week. Stay cool. Check on your neighbors. Drink lots of electrolytes. Try to get some air conditioning, if possible. Here in the northeast, many of our homes do not have AC, so get out of the house! Go get free AC somewhere!
Okay enough of that. I know there’s a lot going on right now. History is literally happening everyday and it is extremely hard to comprehend. What better time to be distracted by some good summer content?
Detectives who investigate dead boys, you ask? No! Dead boys who are detectives! Ghost detectives! My coworker told me I needed to watch this show last week on Monday, and I finished it by Friday. It was so much fun! Full of delight and whimsy, but also the titular dead boys are helping troubled ghosts solve the mysteries of their deaths so they can move on. Please, I need everyone to watch this just so it gets renewed for a second season. It ended on a cliffhanger!
I know I already recommended this a few months ago, but it’s so good. And it’s on Netflix now! Plus, everyone is talking about Paul Mescal in the Gladiator 2 trailer (great stuff, btw), but I think we need to remember that Paul Mescal is also a soulful actor.
There are a lot of things wrong with cheerleading in America. First of all, those “professional” cheerleaders you see on the sidelines of professional sports games? They barely get paid minimum wage. Many of them have full-time jobs outside of cheerleading (intense jobs like nursing). Not to mention the pressures to look a certain way. But I couldn’t look away from this docuseries. Somebody get these girls unionized!
