Hello there,
How’s it going? Happy Monday, if you’re into that sort of thing. I, personally, am not a Monday person, but I guess I’ll respect your choices if you are. Wouldn’t everyone’s lives just be better if we did like half day Mondays, but we started at 1 pm?
Enough of all that, though. Let’s get to what you’re really here for, shall we? I’ll see you next week!
It should not surprise us that self-care has so deeply become commodified in the last decade. The pandemic definitely didn’t help. Vox, as always, is here with a great deep dive. Enjoy!
Unfortunately, I knew I was going to eventually watch House of the Dragon. I was a GoT Girlie, so it was inevitable. And while the first season didn’t quite hit that peak that GoT had, I have high hopes for season two. I also am very much an Olivia Cooke fan. People have been sleeping on her, but I’ve been in the Cooke Camp since Bates Motel (another great show if you haven’t seen it yet, btw). I’ll also admit that Matt Smith’s weird clay face does do it for me. Also, dragons. You cannot forget the dragons. Now is the time to watch season one so you can be ready for season two next week.
I’m pretty sure I rec’d this like four years ago when it first came out, but not enough people are watching this weird, weird show. It’s basically The X-Files, but with a more religious bent. It’s so weird! I am just so shocked they were able to make this show, but I am not complaining. Season four just started, so it’s not too late to hop on the bandwagon.
